So around this time, I have gotten into trying new designs and styles. I have recently gotten very interested in gulf style henna. It is beautiful and flowy and looks great on the hands and shoulder blades. I will update my gallery very soon! Stay tuned.

The exhibit went great; I had such a great time! Anyways, if you’d like to see the photos from my project, just head on over to my gallery.
Below I have included my artist statement:
“I have been very inspired to work on this project. As a feminist, I feel it is very important for the social and gender construction of people, primarily women in North America, to be addressed and dealt with in a more open matter. This piece will deal with how women in society change and altar themselves to appease the masses.
I have decided to use body paint as my medium. I wanted to paint on a female model in a way that will express what a woman does to become “more”. She takes on this new identity, a near-prefect, ambitious endeavor to be thinner, prettier, tanner, taller, etc. It gets to a point where this is all she is seen as by society. The “natural” is hidden, so how real can the perception of her be? My piece is about body image, but more importantly, how it is not real.”
Further Details: The photos were taken by Jared Kuolt and the model has chosen to be named anonymous.
Medium: Body Paint. The model was painted except for the panties and the white ribbon lining the left breast.

and he is! My boyfriend, Jared is truly an amazing photographer. He shoots fashion, nature, journalism, and candid shots. I love his style because it’s his. He creates an image that sticks in your mind that you think of later and still feel what it brought you before. It’s professional yet real. If you need a photographer, check out www.superjared.com
I love every shoot I have been fortunate to work on with this individual.

I am so excited! I will be presenting an art piece in an exhibit in December. I will be showing a feminist piece photgraphed by the fabulous Jared Kuolt. I’m not going to give the whole thing away, but I will say it is a feminist based work of a photgraphed body painted model.
Feel free to contact me for more details or check out the site for the exhibit at Enter the Space Between!

I have been lucky enough to work with a great couple of people with my henna photography. One of those people is Briana of Mooney Make-up. She is brilliant. Not only does she strive to create the look I want, but she gives it a little extra. She researches the history behind the face and adds her own creativity to it to make it completely original and beautiful.
I remember meeting her for the first time and being so excited to work with her. She has a great personality and an amazing ability and I definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a professional make-up artist.
